Setting up DNS and configuration
Setting up DNS (Domain Name System) involves configuring DNS servers to resolve domain names to IP addresses and vice versa. This process is often referred to as DNS configuration. 4. Configure Zones:
A DNS zone is a portion of the domain namespace for which a particular DNS server is responsible. You'll need to configure one or more zones in your DNS server. Common types of zones include:
- Forward Lookup Zone: Resolves domain names to IP addresses.
- Reverse Lookup Zone: Resolves IP addresses to domain names (used for reverse DNS).
- Master Zone: The primary zone where you define DNS records.

6. Start DNS Server:

7. Set DNS Server as the Resolver:

Test your DNS configuration by querying the DNS server using tools like nslookup

9. Monitor and Maintain:
Regularly monitor your DNS server's performance, security, and logs. Maintain your DNS records as needed, updating IP addresses and DNS records when necessary.
